Went through 2 of them in 4 years. I have a couple of playstation II’s that are operating better than these hunk of junks. I’m surprised there hasnt been a class action lawsuit against this company due to cheap parts.

  1. I bought my first 360 about a year or two after they came out and while I did have to deal with RROD on two consoles (one that died in a month and it’s replacement that died a year later) I’ve had my current 360 for 7+ years but then I’m not one to play round the clock or anything.so unless you’re running yours for long hours every single day, keeping them in a place where they can’t vent properly, and doing god knows what else wrong, I have no idea why yours are all failing after such a short amount of time.

  2. It depends.

My first 360 was the Falcon model with the first fixes for the RROD. It lasted about 4 years. Second 360 is one of the Slim models which realistically should last quite a while.

Meanwhile, many people who had the very first model, got anywhere from 1 to 6 years out of it. The older models (including the Falcon) had problems with the RROD, which is why Microsoft increased the warranty against hardware failures from 1 year to 3 years. I think that staved off any potential lawsuit.
