and now they want you to go on the psn store to buy a game pack that gives you a “NETWORK PASS”

THEY ARE RIPPING US OFF BIG TIME.

AND THIS NEW PS3 PLUS THING AS WELL £39.99 FOR A YEAR. ITS ALL A BLOODY CON

so whats the point in used games then?

if you buy a used game for £20 and you have to pay £10 for a pass. you were better off just getting a new copy!

it doesnt make any bloody sense

and what about renting games? so you rent a game for £5 then you have to buy a network pass £10 so thats £15 , well your better off paying for a second hand game then at £20

and then your better off still , if you buy the brand new copy.

so what im saying is buy haveing these ps3 network passes you destroy second hand games and the rental market.

cos who is going to pay £5 plus £10 (for the pass) for a 3 day game rental?

you would be better off in buying the second hand one in the rental case

and then you would be better off buying the brand new copy rather than the second hand one.

so over night both rental and second hand games are completely destroyed

  1. Actually is not Sony, There the freaking game developers. Like Battlefield 3 they making online passes so people wont, be making alt (2nd) accounts. People do that in Call of Duty. I guess they trying to prevent people from making more accounts. But it’s not Sony tho.

  2. Greedy profiteering full stop. And these very big companies just cannot wait to kill the goose that lays the golden eggs. And the goose is you and me collectively.

The only way you can get them to stop what you call ripping off, is not buy any of their products in future. (For say, a limited time, for them to get the message).

And the world is in a mess financially (so they moan), but energy companies are screwing us with price rises unheard off.

Maybe their adding these extra costs to you because of the piracy in replicating their products. I can empathise with you in everything that you have posted.

  3. Getting people to buy the games new is kinda the whole point of this.

You see, when you buy a virgin game, the retailer gives some of your (parents’) money to the publishers/developers. However, when you buy a used game, the retailer gets to keep all your money.

This exists so that they can still make some money off of used games.

Also, you don’t have to buy PS+ to play online, it just gives you extra stuff.

  4. £300 For a PS3? I got my 320gb model for £200 and that is the most expensive one. But it’s not Sony making us pay, it’s the developers. If you buy the game new, you get the pass for free but they don’t cost that much anyway. PlayStation plus is far from a con, they tell you exactly what you get (unlike Microsoft who will take any chance to screw their customers over knowing that they will blindly accept it all) and if you download a lot of content ps plus is a bargain. Sony are actually one of the few companys who actually care about their customers. But if you don’t like payin extra for online pass, either buy it new or play offline. Most games can be bought cheap and new anyway if you look hard enough. As a side note, you will still get this on Xbox but worse and it won’t be long until Nintendo do the same?

  5. If u don’t like PS3 then just fukin move to xbox and pay membership. 15pounds for 3 months WTF! You have to pay for game packs. Even on xbox and you dont have to get PS3 plus if you cant afford it,. And only PS3 has the PLUS feature.

  6. You’re wrong.

The Network Passes are for sale, but you get one automatically when you buy the game first-hand.

You only have to buy a Network Pass if you want a second account, or if you buy the game second-hand.

And iyts the game developers doing this, not Sony. PSN and most games are still free.
